The calcifying cystic odontogenic tumor is a cystic benign odontogenic tumor containing epithelial components similar to ameloblastoma and calcifying shadow cells. The lesions of maxillary premolars are common in patients with limited lesions, and sometimes can occur in the soft tissue outside the jaw. The radiographs show well-defined radio-permeable areas, single-locular or multilocular, sometimes accompanied by odontoma.
