Analysis of HOXB13 Gene (Mutation) by RT-qPCR (CAT#: STEM-MT-2480-LGZ)

Introduction

Official Full Name: homeobox B13
Also known as: HPC9; PSGD
The transcription factor encoded by this gene belongs to the homeobox gene family. This family of genes is highly conserved in vertebrates and is critical to the development of vertebrate embryos. This gene is thought to play a role in fetal skin development and skin regeneration. In mice, a similar gene exhibits temporal and spatial collinearity in the embryonic principal axis but is not expressed in the secondary axis, suggesting a role in body patterning along the axis. This gene forms a gene cluster with other HOXB genes in the region of chromosome 17q21-22.

Principle

Quantitative reverse transcription PCR (RT-qPCR) is an experimental method applied to PCR experiments using RNA as the starting material. In this method, total or messenger RNA (mRNA) is first transcribed into complementary DNA (cDNA) by reverse transcriptase. Subsequently, qPCR reaction was performed using cDNA as template.

Applications

Gene mutation analysis.

Procedure

1. Sample processing and preparation of PCR reaction system.
2. Add the amplification template, cover the PCR reaction cover, mix well, centrifuge at low speed instantaneously, and transfer to the PCR instrument.
3. Set the program for PCR amplification.
4. Data analysis.
