Glicentin (proglucagon 1-69 GLIC) and oxyntomodulin (proglucagon 33-69 or OXM) are two peptide hormones co-released from the ileum and large intestine during digestion. They regulate gastric acid secretion and gastro-pyloric-duodenal activity in vivo. The specificity of their action is related to the presence of their c-terminal octapeptide.
