Analysis of RASSF5 Gene (Mutation) by RT-qPCR (CAT#: STEM-MT-0348-LGZ)

Introduction

Official Full Name: Ras association domain family member 5
Also known as: RAPL; Maxp1; NORE1; NORE1A; NORE1B; RASSF3
This gene is a member of the Ras-association domain family. It functions as a tumor suppressor and is inactivated in a variety of cancers. The encoded protein localizes to centrosomes and microtubules and binds to the GTP-activated form of Ras, Rap1 and several other Ras-like small GTPases. This protein regulates lymphocyte adhesion and inhibits cell growth by activating Rap1 or Ras. Multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene.

Principle

Quantitative reverse transcription PCR (RT-qPCR) is an experimental method applied to PCR experiments using RNA as the starting material. In this method, total or messenger RNA (mRNA) is first transcribed into complementary DNA (cDNA) by reverse transcriptase. Subsequently, qPCR reaction was performed using cDNA as template.

Applications

Gene mutation analysis.

Procedure

1. Sample processing and preparation of PCR reaction system.
2. Add the amplification template, cover the PCR reaction cover, mix well, centrifuge at low speed instantaneously, and transfer to the PCR instrument.
3. Set the program for PCR amplification.
4. Data analysis.
