Honey bees forage on flowers to collect nectar and transform it to produce floral honey which is a natural aqueous supersaturated sugar solution. The monosaccharides (fructose and glucose) are the main components of honey. In addition to a concentrated solution of readily available sugars, many other minor constituents like phenolic, proteins, minerals, free amino acids, several enzymes, lipids, scent compounds, vitamins, flavonoids, organic acids, colorants, waxes, pollens, and some phytochemicals are also found in honey.
