Analysis of TSPAN4 Gene (Mutation) by RT-qPCR (CAT#: STEM-MT-2174-LGZ)

Introduction

Official Full Name: tetraspanin 4
Also known as: NAG2; NAG-2; TM4SF7; TSPAN-4; TETRASPAN
The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the transmembrane superfamily, also known as the tetraprotein family. Most of these members are cell surface proteins characterized by the presence of four hydrophobic domains. These proteins mediate signal transduction events and play a role in the regulation of cell development, activation, growth and motility. The encoded protein is a cell surface glycoprotein whose sequence is similar to its family member CD53 antigen. It is known to bind integrins and other transmembrane superfamily proteins. Alternative splicing transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been identified.

Principle

Quantitative reverse transcription PCR (RT-qPCR) is an experimental method applied to PCR experiments using RNA as the starting material. In this method, total or messenger RNA (mRNA) is first transcribed into complementary DNA (cDNA) by reverse transcriptase. Subsequently, qPCR reaction was performed using cDNA as template.

Applications

Gene mutation analysis.

Procedure

1. Sample processing and preparation of PCR reaction system.
2. Add the amplification template, cover the PCR reaction cover, mix well, centrifuge at low speed instantaneously, and transfer to the PCR instrument.
3. Set the program for PCR amplification.
4. Data analysis.
