Flavonoids, a class of natural drugs with broad biological activity, exhibit inhibitory effect on α-amylase. Citrus peel is a good source of flavonoids. Naringenin (NAR), a flavanone, occurs almost exclusively in citrus fruits and is the most abundant flavonoid in these vegetables.
