The Beckman Coulter Optima TLX Ultracentrifuge is a benchtop ultracentrifuge that can be used in a variety of high-speed applications. The system features an easy-to-use control panel, temperature control system, self-priming vacuum system, programmable memory to store up to 10 different profiles or more. Because this high-speed system tops out at 120,000rpm, it has safety features including a steel hatch that has an electrical locking door mechanism (the door closes manually when it locks automatically).

The system's control panel is located on the top of the machine for convenience, easy access and visibility. During operation, actual conditions such as speed, temperature and time are displayed on the control panel.

Thermoelectric temperature control systems use forced air and do not require any coolant. Once the rotor chamber is closed, the temperature control system will automatically start. The operating temperature can be set between 0 and 40 degrees. There is a microprocessor in the combustion chamber that calculates the combustion chamber temperature to keep the rotor at the selected temperature.
