Real-time detection of PCR products is achieved by adding a fluorescent chemical to the reaction that reports an increase in the amount of DNA as the proportion of fluorescent signal increases. The CCD detector captured images of all 96 wells simultaneously. This resulted in a comprehensive dataset illustrating the kinetic behavior of the data at each cycle.
