The Coaxial/Shielded STM Probe consists of a tapered wire passing through a metal-coated glass nanopipette. The wire may protrude slightly from the edge of the coated nanopipette and remain bare at the tip. The metal coating on the insulating glass provides the necessary electrical shielding for sensitive STM measurements on the wire.
