Listeria, also known as nucleoproliferative Listeria, Listeria, is a facultative anaerobic bacteria, the pathogen of listeria. It is primarily food-borne and is one of the most deadly foodborne pathogens, killing 20 to 30 per cent of those infected. Listeria causes about 2,500 cases and 500 deaths in the United States each year. Listeria is the leading cause of death, even more deadly than Salmonella and Botulism.
