The Leica SM2000 R sliding microtome is the instrument of choice for demanding operations, including routine sectioning of paraffin-embedded biological and medical specimens. Equipped with its low maintenance crossed roller bearings, the SM2000 R ensures smoothness and precision without compromising stability.

The SM2000 R microtome with its quick-release specimen clamping system can be equipped with universal clips or paraffin block standard clamps. Precise fine positioning allows precise alignment of the sample with the knife. For critical samples, where reduced cutting force is often required, the knife can be positioned at an angle. An easy-to-clean partial waste tray is also available as an optional accessory.

The Leica SM2000 R knife holder is designed to accommodate both standard knives and disposable blades. Magnets on the back ensure knife security and easy mounting, and integrated knife guards provide enhanced security. This Leica Microknife Knife or Disposable Blade Holder can be attached to the holder with minimal time and effort. The clearance angle can be adjusted with the tool clamped.

The Leica SM2000 R has an automatic sample advance function that adjusts to the size of the sample. Operator safety is enhanced by using magnets to hold the trolley in the sectioning area prior to segment extraction, or in any position during segment extraction.
