1. The Leica SM2000 R slide microtome offers low-maintenance cross roller bearing slides for slicing paraffin-embedded samples in routine histopathology laboratories. The Leica SM2000 R microtome can also be used for some specific industrial sectioning applications. The SM2000 R is fully equipped to meet most of today's slide microtome sectioning requirements or can be customized to meet more special applications.
2. The Leica SM2000 R microtome has a modern ergonomic design with an adjustable automatic high-precision feeding mechanism. Optional accessories are available to suit various slicing requirements.
3. Height-adjustable feet balance uneven work surfaces and can tilt the slicer slightly to fit the resting position of the sled to meet the user's requirements.
4. Easy-to-use knife holder design can accommodate standard knives and disposable blades. There is a magnet on the back, which is safe and convenient to install, and the integrated knife guard is more secure. Fasten the knife or disposable knife holder to the knife holder, saving time and effort. The thread clamping principle ensures maximum stability and optimum sectioning results. When the knife is clamped, the clearance angle can be adjusted. The microtome features a quick-release specimen clamping system and can be equipped with a super-universal box clamp or a standard paraffin block clamp. Precise fine positioning allows precise alignment of the sample with the knife. For critical samples, where cutting forces are often required to be reduced, the knife can be placed at an angle. Four different knife holder positions provide flexibility for sectioning different specimen sizes and types by changing the inclination of the knife.
5. The Leica SM2000 R slide microtome has automatic (up to 30 μm) and manual feeding via coarse feed wheels to suit different individual needs. The Leica SM2000 R features automatic sample advancement that can be adjusted to the size of the sample. This feature is the basis for efficient and fast tessellation. Operator safety can be enhanced by magnetically securing the sled in the sectioning area prior to section removal, or by locking the front of the sled in any position during section removal. A flexible cover protects the crossed roller bearing from section debris.
