Description

Gas transfer membrane contactors allow gas transfer from gas/solution (water) to air or porous dispersion through hydrophobic membrane absorption. The contactor contains thousands of capillary fibers (made of PP or PTFE polymers) wounded in the falling tubes because the water-hate liquors (water) of the hollow fiber membranes do not penetrate the membrane wall pores. The higher the pressure differential between the liquid flow and the air flow, since the air transfer membrane is as high as possible, the contactor provides a constant interface area transfer over the entire range of flow rates.

A membrane contactor (gas transfer membrane system) is a device that uses a membrane to transfer gas or liquid from one side of the membrane to the other. It is commonly used in chemical or biochemical processes to separate different components of a mixture, or to transfer a gas or liquid from one container to another.

Membrane contactors usually consist of a housing that contains the membrane and a system that applies pressure to one side of the membrane to force a gas or liquid through it. The housing can be made of plastic, metal, or other materials, and the membrane can be made of a variety of materials, including polymers, ceramics, or metals.

There are several types of membrane contactors including hollow fiber contactors, spiral wound contactors and flat plate contactors. Each type has its own advantages and disadvantages, and is best suited for certain applications.

Membrane contactors are widely used in pharmaceutical, chemical processing, water treatment, food and beverage production and other industries. They are often used to transfer gases or liquids in a controlled and precise manner and can be used to separate the different components of a mixture, or to transfer a gas or liquid from one container to another.
