Minisart® Syringe Filters, 0.45µm/28mm, PES, Sterile, model FF345T-10pcs is manufactured by Sartorius. This product is a disposable sterile syringe filter, used with disposable syringes to quickly removes fine particles from liquid samples by filtration. The filter membrane is made of hydrophilic polyethersulfone (PES), with a pore size of 0.45µm, a shell diameter of 33mm, an effective membrane diameter of 28mm, and an effective membrane area of 6.2cm2. The syringe filter has low protein adsorption, low dissolution, high flow rate, high total flux, and the highest flux can reach 200ml (the content of fine particles will affect the highest flux). It does not require membrane replacement and filter cleaning. It is the most widely used in life science laboratories, mainly used for pre-filtration and clarification of small-volume samples such as cell culture media, buffers, proteins, additives, various reagents or drugs, especially suitable for virus packaging filtration. It is also the preferred method for HPLC and GC small sample filtration.

Precautions:
This syringe filter is a single-use product, and it is not recommended to reuse it, so as to prevent the residue from one sample from being carried to the next sample. However, if the same sample is processed, it can be reused 2-3 times appropriately.
If the needle filter needs to be inserted into a sealed container, please use a suitable disinfectant (such as 70% alcohol) for aseptic treatment on the sealed part. If necessary, attach a sterile needle to the needle filter.
If you want to maximize the recovery of the sample to be filtered, remove the needle filter from the syringe and draw air into the syringe. Reconnect the syringe and needle filter and filter operation, so that the remaining sample can be pushed out. At this time, the applied pressure must exceed a specific bubble point (refer to performance parameters), which will reduce the hold-up to the lowest possible amount.
This product is world-leading in terms of purity, so pre-filtration is usually not required. For very sensitive methods or samples, 1-3ml ultrapure water or buffer can be used for pre-filtration before filtration, which can remove very small amounts of extractables in the syringe filter.
