NanoSight LM10 is ideal for use in research laboratories. The instrument is based on a traditional optical microscope, using a laser light source to irradiate the nano-scale particles in a 0.3 ml sample, which is introduced into the observation unit with a disposable syringe. With a nearly perfect black background enhancement, the particles move individually in the form of point scatterers under Brownian motion. Polydisperse and multimodal systems as well as aggregates and contaminants can be identified and quantified immediately. Image Analysis Nanoparticle Tracking Analysis (NTA) software suite allows users to automatically track and size of nanoparticles according to their personal circumstances. The result is displayed as a frequency distribution diagram and output to a spreadsheet. In addition, video clips of images can be captured and archived for future reference. The LM10 has an optional higher specification (sCMOS) camera, which increases the sensitivity of the standard LM10 by a factor of 100. In practice, this means that the detection limit for specific particle types is increased by a factor of 2 compared to standard instrument.
