Polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) membrane: minimum protein binding, for aqueous and mild organic solutions.
Hydrophobic PTFE membranes: compatible with more aggressive organic solutions and can also be used to filter aqueous solutions
Nylon membranes: have broad chemical compatibility for filtration of aqueous and organic solutions.
Hydrophilic PTFE membranes: with low protein binding rate.
MCE membranes: used for filtration of water, buffers, and salt solutions.
Polyethersulfone (PES) membranes: for ultrafast filtration of tissue culture media, additives, buffers and other aqueous solutions.
Cellulose acetate (CA) membranes: Excellent for filtration of biological/immunological samples, cell culture media components, and most other aqueous solutions and reagents.
