It is very effective against compounds labeled with 32P. It is very effective for Beta rays, but not for Gamma rays. The front panel is replaceable. Lift the corner door to enter the room. The door is removable, so it does not occupy valuable laboratory counter working space. If the corner door is opened, the proximity sensor will turn off the power of the UV system.
