Description

Silica-Coated Gold Nanoparticles have unique optical properties, which are due to the chemically inert mesoporous SiO2 shell. This protective layer maintains the stability of the original core while reducing electrostatic interactions, hydrogen bonding, and Van der Waals forces between the metal nanoparticle cores. Additionally, these nanoparticles have excellent stability, uniform shape, clear optical properties, good biocompatibility, and can easily be functionalized for surface modification with proteins and nucleic acids. They have a wide range of applications, including surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy, medical imaging, and drug delivery.
