Lanthanum (III) Oxide (La2O3) is an odorless rare-earth metal oxide, white in color, it exists in solid phase, and is not soluble in water, but in dilute acids. It has the highest optical band-gap (4.3 eV) among the rare-earth oxides, the lowest lattice energy, and an exceptionally high dielectric constant.
