Yttrium(III) Oxide (Y2O3) nanoparticles are used to make phosphors for color television tubes, yttrium iron garnets for use as microwave filters, high temperature superconductors and gas lighting. Another major use of the Y2O3 nanoparticles is in inorganic synthesis. They are also used as additives in the coatings used in high-temperature applications, paints and plastics for guarding against UV degradation and also in making permanent magnets.
