Thomson Optimum Growth™ Flasks for Viability and High Protein Expression in Mammalian and Insect Cell Cultures. The Thomson bottle has significantly improved cell viability and activity in cell culture. Thanks to the low-shear spoiler of the Thomson culture bottle, the aeration efficiency is improved, so the liquid volume of Thomson can reach 60% of the total volume. Other types of shake flasks have a maximum liquid volume of only 30% of the total volume. Thomson culture flasks make cells grow healthily, thereby increasing the expression of target products such as membrane proteins, secreted proteins and monoclonal antibodies; increasing the protein expression of insect cells by 200%. For some stable cells and transient expression cells, the protein expression can be increased by 300%.
Using Thomson culture flask, the liquid volume ratio is increased, and the expression amount per unit volume is increased. It can greatly save the consumption of culture bottles and medium. Thomson flasks for highly reproducible, batch-to-batch scalable subcellular growth and consistent yield.

Optimum Growth Transfer Caps are available in two different models; Inverted (quick transfers) and bi-directional transfer caps with inserts for metered transfers through the use of a peristaltic pump.
