Specac^® Benchmark Baseplate manufactured by Specac is an adapter baseplate used for installation of Specac accessories (such as ATR unit) into the sample compartment of the spectrometer. The accessory is located on the top of the Benchmark baseplate and is fixed by a thumbscrew.
The Benchmark baseplate may be suitable for multiple spectrometer models provided by the same manufacturer, and after installed in to the spectrometer, any accessories compatible with the Benchmark baseplate can be correctly installed for operation.
Simply cancel the thumbscrew connection on the accessory itself, and the accessory can be replaced for operation. There is no need to remove Benchmark baseplate from the sample compartment of the spectrometer. The advantage is that once the accessory is precisely aligned to run in a specific spectrometer on the Benchmark baseplate, as long as the optical settings on the accessory are not changed, it can be taken out of the spectrometer as many times as necessary and is ready for the next installation.
