Gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA) is an important inhibitory neurotransmitter in the central nervous system. Glutamic acid decarboxylase (GAD) is a key enzyme in GABA synthesis, which can be divided into two subtypes: glutamic acid decarboxylase 67(GAD67) and glutamic acid decarboxylase 65(GAD65). Its expression activity is closely related to GABA level in inhibitory synapses and Gabaergic nerve conduction downstream.
