The Whatman® AutovialsTM Syringeless Filters manufactured by Whatman International Ltd. are preassembled filtration devices which replace syringe-coupled filtration devices. The filters consist of a filter barrel with graduation and a plunger. The filtration process is simple. First, pour the sample into the filter barrel, insert the plunger into the filter barrel until the bottom is securely in place. Then, put the tip of the Autovial into the mouth of an autosampler vial or container and compress the plunger. Connect a needle to the Autovial slip-luer outlet for direct instrument injection.
