Analysis of CNTFR Gene (Mutation) by RT-qPCR (CAT#: STEM-MT-2048-LGZ)

Introduction

Official Full Name: ciliary neurotrophic factor receptor<br />This gene encodes a member of the type 1 cytokine receptor family. The encoded protein is a ligand-specific component of the ciliary neurotrophic factor tripartite receptor, which plays a key role in neuronal cell survival, differentiation and gene expression. Ciliary neurotrophic factor binds to the encoded protein, recruits the transmembrane component of the receptor gp130 and the leukemia inhibitory factor receptor, and facilitates signal transduction. Single nucleotide polymorphisms in this gene may be associated with changes in muscle strength and the early onset of eating disorders. Alternative splicing transcript variants were observed in this gene.

Principle

Quantitative reverse transcription PCR (RT-qPCR) is an experimental method applied to PCR experiments using RNA as the starting material. In this method, total or messenger RNA (mRNA) is first transcribed into complementary DNA (cDNA) by reverse transcriptase. Subsequently, qPCR reaction was performed using cDNA as template.

Applications

Gene mutation analysis.

Procedure

1. Sample processing and preparation of PCR reaction system.
2. Add the amplification template, cover the PCR reaction cover, mix well, centrifuge at low speed instantaneously, and transfer to the PCR instrument.
3. Set the program for PCR amplification.
4. Data analysis.
