Analysis of EML4 Gene (Mutation) by RT-qPCR (CAT#: STEM-MT-1711-LGZ)

Introduction

Official Full Name: EMAP like 4
Also known as: C2orf2; ELP120; EMAP-4; EMAPL4; ROPP120
This gene is a member of the echinoderm microtubule-associated protein family. The encoded wd repeat protein may be involved in the formation of microtubules. Aberrant fusion of part of this gene with part of the anaplastic lymphoma receptor tyrosine kinase gene, resulting in an EML4-ALK fusion transcript, is one of the major mutations associated with non-small cell lung cancer. Alternative splicing of this gene results in two transcript variants.

Principle

Quantitative reverse transcription PCR (RT-qPCR) is an experimental method applied to PCR experiments using RNA as the starting material. In this method, total or messenger RNA (mRNA) is first transcribed into complementary DNA (cDNA) by reverse transcriptase. Subsequently, qPCR reaction was performed using cDNA as template.

Applications

Gene mutation analysis.

Procedure

1. Sample processing and preparation of PCR reaction system.
2. Add the amplification template, cover the PCR reaction cover, mix well, centrifuge at low speed instantaneously, and transfer to the PCR instrument.
3. Set the program for PCR amplification.
4. Data analysis.
