Analysis of GJA8 Gene (Mutation) in Cataract 1 Multiple Types by RT-qPCR (CAT#: STEM-MT-0137-LGZ)

Introduction

Also known as: CAE; CAE1; CX50; CZP1; MP70; CTRCT1<br />This gene encodes a transmembrane junction protein necessary for lens growth and lens fiber cell maturation. The encoded protein is a component of gap junction channels and functions in a calcium- and pH-dependent manner. Mutations in this gene are associated with banded powdery cataract, nuclear progressive cataract, and cataract-microcorneal syndrome.

Principle

Quantitative reverse transcription PCR (RT-qPCR) is an experimental method applied to PCR experiments using RNA as the starting material. In this method, total or messenger RNA (mRNA) is first transcribed into complementary DNA (cDNA) by reverse transcriptase. Subsequently, qPCR reaction was performed using cDNA as template.

Applications

Cataract 1 multiple types

Procedure

1. Sample processing and preparation of PCR reaction system.
2. Add the amplification template, cover the PCR reaction cover, mix well, centrifuge at low speed instantaneously, and transfer to the PCR instrument.
3. Set the program for PCR amplification.
4. Data analysis.
