Placental(P)-Cadherin(PCAD) belongs to the family of adhesion molecules and is a calcium-dependent transmembrane protein. Couples with catenins, α, β, and γ (plakoglobin) in the cytoplasm, and then associates with the cytoskeleton. Plays an important role in embryonic formation, especially tissue formation. It is also involved in maintaining the structure of mature tissues. Human PCAD has 829 amino acids in synthesis and 722 amino acids in mature protein.
