Analysis of α-Synuclein (Human) by MSD Hypersensitive Multi-Factor Electrochemiluminescence Analyzer (CAT#: STEM-MB-0637-LGZ)

Introduction

α-Synuclein is a neuronal protein that plays multiple roles in synaptic activity. α-Synuclein participates in synaptic vesicle exocytosis as a monomer and regulates synaptic vesicle trafficking and subsequent neurotransmitter release by enhancing vesicle initiation, fusion and expansion of the exocytic fusion pore. Aα-Synuclein plays a role in the regulation of dopamine neurotransmission by binding to the dopamine transporter (DAT1) to regulate its activity, and mutations in its gene are associated with Parkinson's disease.
