Known as the Cadillac of particle counters, the Beckman Coulter Multisizer™ 3 counter is a versatile and well-designed particle size analyzer. This model is ideal for biological and industrial applications as well as other laboratory procedures including quality control and research. Available for materials in a wide range of sizes, Beckman Coulter counters conveniently provide size and volume distributions in various units of measurement, including number, volume, surface area and mass, with an overall range of 0.4 - 1200um.
The Beckman Coulter Multisizer™ 3 particle counter utilizes the Coulter principle to measure particle volume, directly measuring the physical properties of particles. This principle, also known as the electrical sensing zone method, is the world-recognized standard for particle size analysis. The Multisizer™ 3 Coulter Counter Analyzer provides number, mass, volume and surface area size distributions in the size range from 0.4 μm to 1200 μm.
In addition to the Coulter principle, Beckman Coulter counters are equipped with a Digital Pulse Processor (DPP) for increased resolution and accuracy. High-speed digitization of the signal allows increased particle characterization using pulse area analysis and other techniques. The measurement data from the Multisizer™ Coulter counter is then analyzed and formatted in a variety of ways. Output can also be stored and reanalyzed for later use without reprocessing the sample. This particle counting tool is able to perform automatic corrections for compliance.
