The Beckman Optima™ LE-80K ultracentrifuge provides the fastest separation in the shortest time with a performance capability of up to 80,000 rpm. This versatile model is compatible with a wide range of premium rotors and tubes. The Optima™ LE-80K is capable of fast run times and is suitable for a wide range of applications.
Featuring a high tolerance for rotor imbalance, this Beckman centrifuge uses a frequency-controlled, air-cooled, direct-drive induction motor that requires no brushes or gears. With this external forced air cooling and internal oil cooling, operators can guarantee smooth and quiet performance.
The Beckman LE-80K is equipped with an easy-to-use, environmentally friendly and microprocessor-based controlled cooling system that eliminates the use of chlorofluorocarbons and other hazardous liquid refrigerants. This Optima centrifuge is operated via a keyboard control panel and digital display showing parameters including rotor speed, run time, rotor temperature, w2t value and selected program number. The display has a dual purpose, showing both the actual value/condition and the set value.
Additional features of the Beckman Optima™ LE-80K centrifuge include automatic standby mode, overspeed and purge systems, LED operating indicators, and diagnostic information. Its design includes a high-strength structural steel hatch that is solenoid interlocked to prevent it from opening during operation. The LE-80K has an aluminum rotor cavity painted with chemically resistant epoxy paint.
