Description

Capturing nickel-functionalized membranes for His-tag purification is a revolutionary solution for recombinant protein purification that effortlessly outperforms traditional methods. The novel nylon membranes have been assembled into spin columns and filtration devices, creating a wait-free, room-temperature workflow (5-30 minutes from sample loading to elution), compatible with both mammalian and bacterial cells. Excellent performance was consistent across a wide range of research settings, including denaturing conditions, in the presence of additives (e.g., BME, EDTA, DTT, glycerol, TCEP, etc.; see Compatibility Table), and for his-tagged When proteins are purified in tandem.

Modified nylon membranes have a small bed volume but still produce high-purity, concentrated proteins due to the chemically enhanced pore surface area. With this technology, the binding capacity of the protein is comparable to, or better than that of the resin, binding 75 mg or more per cubic centimeter of membrane. Mini-print, max-print, 24-well plate, 96-well plate and bulk formats are available to accommodate a range of input volumes. In addition, the short residence time of protein samples greatly reduces the possibility of protein degradation or loss of activity, resulting in a higher probability of success for downstream applications.
