Streptavidin microcolumns and 96-well plates utilize immobilized streptavidin on high-capacity Capturem membranes to enable rapid, high-quality purification or enrichment of biotinylated targets. Alternatively, biotinylated ligands bound to capture streptavidin membranes can be used to pull down target molecules or complexes.

Streptavidin, a cell wall protein from the bacterium Streptomyces, has a high affinity for biotin, and this interaction is widely used in enrichment and other applications in the life sciences. The Capturem kit uses a novel, high-capacity membrane-based affinity technology that enables a workflow from sample loading to elution within minutes at room temperature.
