Total organic carbon (TOC) is the total amount of organic matter in the water expressed by the content of carbon, and the result is expressed by the mass concentration of carbon (C) (mg/L). Carbon is the common component of all organic matter and the main element of organic matter. The higher the TOC value of water, the higher the content of organic matter in water. Therefore, TOC can be used as an indicator to evaluate organic pollution of water quality.
Combustion oxidation non-dispersive infrared absorption method is simple, rapid, low cost, high sensitivity, and can meet the requirements of TOC monitoring in wastewater.
