Description

G-Trap™ Phenyl Sepharose 6 Fast Flow (Low Sub) is prepackaged for the separation of biomolecules by hydrophobic interaction chromatography (HIC).

Biomolecules are separated on HIC columns according to the hydrophobicity of the ligands attached to the resin, the distribution of surface-exposed hydrophobic amino acids on the protein or enzyme to be separated, and the concentration and type of salt used for binding or priming buffers. In HIC, the binding of biomolecules to the column (ligand) is facilitated by using high concentrations of anti-orientation salts, such as ammonium sulfate, sodium sulfate, etc., in the binding buffer or initiation buffer.
