The GE Typhoon Trio Imager is a variable-mode imager that produces digital images of radioactive, fluorescent, or chemiluminescent samples. Typhoon instruments are available in several models. The Typhoon Trio instrument contains three internal lasers (blue, green and red).

When one of the five scan modes is selected, the corresponding optics are automatically activated.
The Typhoon Imager scans mounted and unloaded storage fluorescent screens, gels and blots up to 35 x 43 cm as well as microarrays.
The Typhoon Imager has excellent linearity and quantitative accuracy and includes ImageQuant TL image analysis software.
The Typhoon Imager was fully optimized as part of the Eitan DIGE system and ensured seamless integration of all models with DeCyder differential analysis software.
Special tray templates are part of the latest scanner control software and new optional gel alignment guides add higher throughput and ease of handling 2D gel runs on the Ettan DALT and SE600.
