HOOK™ GST Protein Spin Purification Kit provides rapid purification of soluble GST-tagged proteins from bacterial cultures. Bacteria are first lysed with bacterial PE LB™ and PE LB™-lysozyme, releasing total soluble protein while maintaining protein structure and activity. Add 0.5 ml of glutathione resin to the clarified lysate, and purify the GST-tagged protein by affinity chromatography. The resin is transferred to a convenient spin column where it is quickly washed and the GST protein is eluted.

Bacteria - PELB™ Kit has been developed for the extraction of soluble proteins from bacterial cells. It is based on a patented improvement of lysozyme lysis, allowing extraction of soluble proteins while removing nucleic acids (DNA and RNA) released during cell lysis. Bacteria-pe LB™ Lysis eliminates viscosity build-up, allowing efficient clarification with lower centrifugal forces.

The HOOK™ GST Protein Spin Purification Kit is optimized to obtain ~1mg/50ml of soluble GST-tagged protein with a purity of 80-90%, depending on the protein's expression level, resin type, conformation, and solubility characteristics.

For large-scale isolation of GST proteins from bacteria, we recommend our gravity flow kit for isolation of 10mg protein from ~250ml bacteria.
