The ACL Elite belongs to the ACL family of coagulation analyzers in Instrument Labs and has over 30 tests with a maximum throughput of 175 tests per hour. This system is easy to operate, powerful and highly regarded in the global hemostasis market. Coagulation analysis detects abnormalities in the components required to complete normal blood clotting. The analysis was divided into two parts; measurement of clot time and, if the time was abnormal, an in-depth analysis to determine which factors contributed to normal coagulation deficiencies. Coagulopathy is divided into hypocoagulability (impaired or slowed coagulation) and hypercoagulability (unnaturally rapid coagulation time or manner disorders). Hypocoagulation can lead to bleeding or other acquired blood clotting disorders, such as hemophilia, while hypercoagulation can lead to unnatural clots in arteries and other blood vessels that can lead to serious organ damage or possible death. There is usually a balance between the factors that stimulate thrombin formation and the forces acting to delay thrombin formation. This balance maintains the circulation of blood as a fluid. When an injury occurs or blood flows from the blood vessels, this balance is disrupted and coagulation begins. Clotting can occur in the body. Symptoms of coagulation disorders are spontaneous bruising, prolonged bleeding, abnormal nosebleeds, menorrhagia, or gastrointestinal bleeding.
