A typical MD stand is a robotic platform that can be bolted directly to the frame of an inverted microscope. The most common inverted microscopes produced by Nikon, Olympus, Leica and Zeiss are available in single-sided or double-sided versions. When manipulators are used to place patch electrodes for recording from attached cells in culture, these platforms can provide the absolute drift-free recording configuration required. To install the MP-285 on the MD bracket, you also need the X285210 mounting adapter plate (for orthogonal mounting) or the 285RBI rotating base to achieve non-orthogonal mounting and rotation of the entire robotic arm (Note: The X285210 mounting plate is Supplied with MP-285 and MP-225).
