Auxin is a kind of plant endogenous hormone-containing an unsaturated aromatic ring and a carboxylic acid group. It regulates the growth of plant by stimulating cell expansion and division, elongation and differentiation, and has a big effect on the final morphology and function of plant cells and tissues. Auxin is the only known plant hormone with polar transport mode, which is present in all parts of the plant, although in very different concentrations due to environmental cues, such as unidirectional light or gravity force. The uneven distribution of auxin results in uneven growth of plant tissue, therefore affecting the form and shape of the plant body. It also affects a wide range of physiological reactions. Indole-3-acetic acid (IAA) is the most important native plant auxin and it generates the majority of auxin effects in intact plants. Other naturally occurring auxins in plants include 4-chloroindole-3-acetic acid, phenylacetic acid, indole-3-butyric acid, and indole-3-propionic acid.
STEMart is able to efficiently and accurately detect the content and changes of auxin in plant samples based on HPLC and LC-MS platform.
