Prepman™ Ultra Sample Preparation Reagent, MicroSEQ® ID, model 4318930 is manufactured by Thermo Fisher Scientific. PrepMan® Ultra sample preparation reagent is developed for the rapid preparation of DNA templates from Gram-negative foodborne pathogens for PCR amplification reactions. These samples usually have high lipid content, which can inhibit PCR amplification of the template. PrepMan®UltraReagent can effectively inactivate PCR inhibitors using a simple boiling and spin-drying protocol, thereby greatly reducing the need for repeated template preparation steps.
PrepMan® Ultra reagents have been used to prepare PCR-ready templates from a variety of different sources, including bacteria, yeast, filamentous fungi from plates or liquid cultures, mammalian tissue smears, and human cells (buccal swabs) And mammalian whole blood. The resulting template has been used in allele identification determination, genetically modified organism (GMO) detection and quantification, food pathogen detection, microbial identification and bacterial strain typing.
PrepMan®Ultra reagent is a new formula, which is a replacement/improvement of PrepMan® sample preparation reagents. It does not contain Chelex® or any other type of resin or matrix homogeneous solution.
