Description

The Recombinant Human TIM-3 Protein manufactured by Seafrom is suitable for immune regulation and checkpoint inhibition.
Hepatitis A virus cellular receptor 2, also known as HAVCR2, FLJ14428, KIM3, TIM3, and TIMD3, is a member of the TIM (T-cell immunoglobulin and mucin domain) family of immune-regulating molecules. It consists of one Ig-like V-type domain and a Ser/Thr-rich mucin stalk.
CD4-positive T helper lymphocytes can be classified into two types, Th1 and Th2, based on their patterns of cytokine secretion. Th1 cells and their associated cytokines are involved in cell-mediated immunity against intracellular pathogens and delayed-type hypersensitivity reactions. In contrast, Th2 cells play a role in controlling extracellular helminthic infections and promoting atopic and allergic diseases. These two types of cells cross-regulate each other's functions.
HAVCR2 is a cell surface protein specific to Th1 cells, and it regulates macrophage activation while enhancing the severity of experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis in mice. HAVCR2 plays a key role in controlling macrophage activation and can inhibit T-helper type 1 lymphocyte (Th1)-mediated auto- and alloimmune responses, promoting immunological tolerance. It may also be involved in T-cell homing. Dysregulation of the HAVCR2-galectin-9 pathway could potentially underlie chronic autoimmune diseases in humans, such as multiple sclerosis.
Storage Information:
Lyophilized samples can be stored at 4°C for 24 months, and once reconstituted, the liquid can be stored at -20°C for 6-12 months, with care taken to avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
