Description

Synder filter has been producing anode cells and anolyte circulation systems for the E-Coat industry since 1996 and proudly serves most of the major automotive companies worldwide. Synder is able to manufacture anode cells of various sizes and orientations, such as horizontal roof cells, horizontal floor cells, vertical side cells, and bare anodes. Anode structures are available in SS316 stainless steel, as well as ruthenium oxide and iridium oxide coated titanium for greater current density. To better control membrane formation and record current per anode cell, Synder also offers a Current Monitoring System (CMS) that records data on a remote computer for historical analysis in a highly economical way.
Electrophoretic paint (E-Coat) is the base layer of paint applied to most vehicles, providing corrosion resistance and physical durability. Anode cells (also known as anodic cells and electrodialysis cells) perform a dual role in the electrocoating process: they act as counter electrodes for the car body and remove excess acid produced in the paint bath during electrophoresis.
Compared to flat-panel cells, both TechCELLS and SuperCELLs offer a wider range of electronic "throw angles" that can significantly improve coating quality and coverage in hard-to-reach areas involving parts with more complex geometries. Caution should always be used when increasing the voltage to provide greater throwing force to prevent rupture of the membrane. Synder currently offers open and closed top 1.5" and 2" units, as well as floor and bottom units, which can be customized to fit nearly any tank depth and work pack size.
Synder's TechCELL™ anode cells optimize electrophoresis processes. The tubular anode cell design is the preferred style for small industrial E-Coat lines.

Specification

WHAT IT DOES

Anolyte cells serve as an opposing electrode for the part being painted, as well as an acid removal device.

HOW IT WORKS

Equipped with a robust anionic membrane, the electrical charge on these cells transport the excess acid in the paint bath to an anolyte recirculation system.

BETTER THROW ANGLES

Tubular (Round) Anodes offer a greater range of electrical “throw angles” vs. flat cells. A greater variety of throw angles cansignificantly improve the coating quality and coverage in hard to reach areas of the part. More throw angles also allow the anode to start painting sooner in monorail systems.
