Analysis of CELSR2 Gene (Mutation) by RT-qPCR (CAT#: STEM-MT-1173-LGZ)

Introduction

Official Full Name: cadherin EGF LAG seven-pass G-type receptor 2
Also known as: EGFL2; MEGF3; ADGRC2; CDHF10; Flamingo1
The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the flamingo subfamily, part of the cadherin superfamily. The subfamily of flamingos consists of nonclassical cadherins; a subpopulation that does not interact with catenin. Flamingo-cadherin is located on the plasma membrane and has nine cadherin domains, seven epidermal growth factor-like repeats and two laminin A-G-type repeats. They also have seven transmembrane domains, a feature unique to this subfamily. These proteins are postulated to be receptors involved in contact-mediated communication, with the cadherin domain serving as the homophilic binding domain and the EGF-like domain involved in cell adhesion and receptor-ligand interactions. The exact function of this particular member has not been determined.

Principle

Quantitative reverse transcription PCR (RT-qPCR) is an experimental method applied to PCR experiments using RNA as the starting material. In this method, total or messenger RNA (mRNA) is first transcribed into complementary DNA (cDNA) by reverse transcriptase. Subsequently, qPCR reaction was performed using cDNA as template.

Applications

Gene mutation analysis.

Procedure

1. Sample processing and preparation of PCR reaction system.
2. Add the amplification template, cover the PCR reaction cover, mix well, centrifuge at low speed instantaneously, and transfer to the PCR instrument.
3. Set the program for PCR amplification.
4. Data analysis.
