Analysis of IGSF8 Gene (Mutation) by RT-qPCR (CAT#: STEM-MT-1033-LGZ)

Introduction

Official Full Name: immunoglobulin superfamily member 8
Also known as: EWI2; PGRL; CD316; EWI-2; KCT-4; CD81P3; LIR-D1
This gene encodes a member of the EWI subfamily of the immunoglobulin superfamily. Members of this family contain a transmembrane domain, an EWI (Glu-Trp-Ile) motif and a variable number of immunoglobulin domains. This protein interacts with the tetraspanins CD81 and CD9 and may regulate their roles in certain cellular functions, including cell migration and viral infection. The encoded protein may also act as a tumor suppressor by inhibiting the proliferation of certain cancers. Alternate splicing results in multiple transcript variants encoding the same protein.

Principle

Quantitative reverse transcription PCR (RT-qPCR) is an experimental method applied to PCR experiments using RNA as the starting material. In this method, total or messenger RNA (mRNA) is first transcribed into complementary DNA (cDNA) by reverse transcriptase. Subsequently, qPCR reaction was performed using cDNA as template.

Applications

Gene mutation analysis.

Procedure

1. Sample processing and preparation of PCR reaction system.
2. Add the amplification template, cover the PCR reaction cover, mix well, centrifuge at low speed instantaneously, and transfer to the PCR instrument.
3. Set the program for PCR amplification.
4. Data analysis.
