Analysis of LSM1 Gene (Mutation) by RT-qPCR (CAT#: STEM-MT-1872-LGZ)

Introduction

Official Full Name: LSM1 homolog, mRNA degradation associated
Also known as: CASM; YJL124C
This gene encodes a member of the LSm family of RNA-binding proteins. LSm protein forms stable isoforms, specifically binds to the 3'-terminal oligonucleotide (U) region of U6 snRNA, and may play a role in pre-mRNA splicing by mediating the formation of U4/U6 snRNP. Increased expression of this gene may play a role in cellular transformation and progression of several malignancies including lung, mesothelioma and breast cancer. There is an alternatively spliced transcript variant of this gene, and the pseudogene of this gene is located on the short arm of chromosome 9.

Principle

Quantitative reverse transcription PCR (RT-qPCR) is an experimental method applied to PCR experiments using RNA as the starting material. In this method, total or messenger RNA (mRNA) is first transcribed into complementary DNA (cDNA) by reverse transcriptase. Subsequently, qPCR reaction was performed using cDNA as template.

Applications

Gene mutation analysis.

Procedure

1. Sample processing and preparation of PCR reaction system.
2. Add the amplification template, cover the PCR reaction cover, mix well, centrifuge at low speed instantaneously, and transfer to the PCR instrument.
3. Set the program for PCR amplification.
4. Data analysis.
