Metal–organic frameworks (MOFs) are crystalline porous materials composed of metal nodes connected by organic ligands. By judicious selection of the node and ligand, MOFs can be elegantly tuned toward various applications including, but not limited to, gas storage/separation, heterogeneous catalysis, and chemical separation. Most recently, MOFs have been examined for drug delivery and enzyme fixation.
