Analysis of PAX7 Gene (Mutation) by RT-qPCR (CAT#: STEM-MT-0085-LGZ)

Introduction

Also known as: HUP1; RMS2; PAX7B; CMYP19; MYOSCO
This gene is a member of the paired box (PAX) transcription factor family. Members of this gene family typically contain a paired box domain, an octapeptide, and a paired homology domain. These genes play key roles in fetal development and cancer growth. The exact function of the paired box 7 gene is unknown, but it is speculated to be involved in tumor suppression, as fusion of this gene to a member of the forkhead domain family has been implicated in alveolar rhabdomyosarcoma. Three transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene.

Principle

Quantitative reverse transcription PCR (RT-qPCR) is an experimental method applied to PCR experiments using RNA as the starting material. In this method, total or messenger RNA (mRNA) is first transcribed into complementary DNA (cDNA) by reverse transcriptase. Subsequently, qPCR reaction was performed using cDNA as template.

Applications

Hereditary breast ovarian cancer syndrome

Procedure

1. Sample processing and preparation of PCR reaction system.
2. Add the amplification template, cover the PCR reaction cover, mix well, centrifuge at low speed instantaneously, and transfer to the PCR instrument.
3. Set the program for PCR amplification.
4. Data analysis.
