Analysis of RNASEL Gene (Mutation) by RT-qPCR (CAT#: STEM-MT-0170-LGZ)

Introduction

Also known as: RNS4; PRCA1<br />This gene encodes a component of the interferon-regulated 2-5A system, which plays a role in the antiviral and antiproliferative effects of interferon. This protein is involved in innate immunity and is active against a variety of RNA viruses, including influenza and SARS-CoV-2 viruses. Mutations in this gene, which is a candidate for the hereditary prostate cancer 1 (HPC1) allele, are associated with prostate cancer susceptibility.

Principle

Quantitative reverse transcription PCR (RT-qPCR) is an experimental method applied to PCR experiments using RNA as the starting material. In this method, total or messenger RNA (mRNA) is first transcribed into complementary DNA (cDNA) by reverse transcriptase. Subsequently, qPCR reaction was performed using cDNA as template.

Applications

Prostate cancer, hereditary, 1

Procedure

1. Sample processing and preparation of PCR reaction system.
2. Add the amplification template, cover the PCR reaction cover, mix well, centrifuge at low speed instantaneously, and transfer to the PCR instrument.
3. Set the program for PCR amplification.
4. Data analysis.
